Nigeria - Hyundai Motors Donates Buses To FIFA LOC
The Independent Online

Hyundai Motors Nigeria Limited (HMNL), a division of Stallion Motors, made history recently when it officially handed over 78 Hyundai vehicles comprising mini buses, sedans and SUVs to the Local Organising Committee of the FIFA-U-17 World Cup Tournament in Nigeria.

At the handing over ceremony, the Marketing Director of HMNL, Kiran S. Parab, said Hyundai Motor Company has been an official partner and co-sponsor of all FIFA football tournaments since 2002 till 2014, adding that Hyundai Motors Nigeria was as well poised to participate in this noble cause by supporting the logistic needs of the tournament, which, he was optimistic would ultimately promote youths sports development in Nigeria and corporate social responsibility.

He said HMNL of Stallion group was humbled to support the federal government's effort of successful hosting of the tournament, thereby contributing its share of corporate social responsibility in providing logistic support to FIFA for the movement of people and materials.

He noted that HMNL brand image has risen all over the world in this decade; and in Nigeria, it has had a steady growth to be amongst the top three auto brands, saying that the highest selling Korean automobile in the world was proud to be associated with FIFA.

He pointed out that Hyundai cars and SUVs such as i-10; Accent, Elantra, Sonata, Azera, Genesis, Tucson, Santa fe and Veracruz have taken the centre stage as established models in the auto industry today, as compared to the past and urged individual customers and corporate bodies to take advantage of the pocket friendly incentives to own Hyundai vehicles which, he said, were globally renowned for excellent quality and fuel efficiency with low ownership and maintenance cost.

He also noted that HMNL supplied 200 units of H-1 Executive minibuses to FCT Abuja and more than 300 units of Accent as Taxis to Rivers State, adding that Hyundai vehicle range caters to the needs of young career beginners up to chairmen’s and business tycoons; from public transport minibuses to inter and intra-city large buses, from one ton mini-trucks up to 60-70 tons bulk good carriers. He said Hyundai is ranked among the top five global auto manufacturers in the world.

He, however, thanked the management of HMC, HMNL and the company's loyal customers for their support while also praying and wishing the Nigerian eaglets to try their best to win the much coveted trophy.

In his remark, Mike Umeh, on behalf of the FIFA U-17 LOC and Nigerians, expressed gratitude to Stallion Motors and Hyundai Motors Nigeria Limited in particular for taking the bold initiative to support the tournament and urged other auto companies in the country to emulate the good gesture.
